The Power of Music

Hello Fellow Bloggers!

Sorry I’ve been MIA for a while, school just started up a few weeks ago, and I just got consumed in trying to readjust in the school schedule, but hey, it’s my last semester of undergrad, super excited! Well, earlier today, a friend of mine sent me a mix he made by combining an American and Indian song. The music was so well mixed together it sparked a moment of thought. In a world where individuals can find a million ways to distinguish themselves from others and create barriers, music has the ability to break those barriers and create a sense of unity, something I truly felt when listening to his remix. When we expose ourselves to different cultures, there tends to be a language barrier but with music, we listen to the beat not the lyrics. You can feel extremely left out in a crowd, but once the music starts to play, the rhythm unites everyone. While listening to his mix, I noticed that the lyrics don’t actually have much similarity to their literal meanings, but when they are combined if feels as if the songs were meant to go together all along! Breaking barriers to create a feeling of unity, that’s the power of music.

I have posted a link to his remix below! Please do take a listen, also if there are any of you that have created your own remixes by breaking barriers, please do share! I would love to take a listen!

Keep Jamming,

Preety
